Commentaries in the Substack column, “Knowledge, ideology, and real socialism in our times,”
Launched on April 6, 2021, “Knowledge, ideology, and real socialism in our times” has more than 500 commentaries on Cuba, China, and the anti-imperialist States of the Global South; and on the rise and fall of the American Republic, and the rise of Trump and MAGA.
The posts are oriented toward explaining and defending the Cuban political-economic system and reflecting on political affairs from the perspective of the Global South, with historical consciousness. They also give attention to China, which has emerged as a leading force in the construction of a pluripolar world order, in cooperation with anti-imperialist States. They see the MAGA movement as emerging from the structural contradictions of the world-system, with proposals that are implicitly in harmony from those of the Global South.
